M-F; 8 hour days
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing with a BSN and/or graduation from an Allied HealthSciences Program. Required three years' experience in a Cardiac Invasive Lab performing diagnostic and interventional procedures.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION: Current registration, license, and/or certification in applicable state as a Registered Nurse and/or Registration / Certification by Allied Health Sciences program. Current Certification in BLS and ACLS.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manages patient care and staff.
- Promotes a cooperative working environment by utilizing effective communication skills.
- Creates and maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, self, co-workers, and facility.
- Manages and facilitates an environment conducive to optimal patient outcomes through Quality Improvement activities.
- Ensures an environment that stimulates the ongoing professional development of staff and self.
- Ensures staff is achieving department work objectives for organized patient care.
- Coordinates TJC disease specific certifications.
- Coordinates all departmental POCT competency and quality controls as directed by the POCT coordinator for the hospital.
- Ensures age/developmentally appropriate patient procedures are provided in accordance with Age-Specific Guidelines for the specific age groups served.
- Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships, and team building.
